375 <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift answered that the Design Review Board approved the <br />modifications to the building, and the Planning Commission granted <br />a conditional use permit. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer asked Mr. Bartolomucci if he would mind signing an <br />agreement that if he defaults on the loan, the sewage capacity <br />would revert to the City. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bartolomucci replied that it would not be a problem. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 89-426 be adopted, approving a restaurant sewer <br />connection loan in the downtown area for Mr. Ray Bartolomucci, <br />with the added condition that the sewer allocation reverts to the <br />City if Mr. Bartolomucci defaults on his loan. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 12b <br />Consideration for Purchase of Buildinq on Sunol Blvd. for Civic <br />Center <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 89:432) regarding the <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Stanley Rathbone suggested that City Hall be moved to the <br />property owned by the City where the Corporation Yard presently <br />is and convert the present City Hall buildings into a Senior <br />Citizens Center. <br /> <br /> Ms. Phyllis Couper stated that the City would gain only half <br />an acre by moving City Hall from its present location to the <br />Kaiser Tech Center. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer indicated that the City was concerned more with <br />the square footage of usable office space than with acreage. <br /> <br /> Ms. Couper commented that the City should purchase the <br />grounds in addition to the building to preserve the open space. <br /> <br /> Ms. Martene Winzler, 739 Main Street, stated that she had a <br />signed petition from about 500 people who were opposed to moving <br />City Hall to the Kaiser Tech Center. She handed the papers to Mr. <br />Mercer. <br /> <br /> Mr. Charles Doda, 7983 Applewood Court, mentioned that the <br />City needed a larger City Hall and that the Kaiser Tech Center <br />looked fine; the present City Hall site could be used for <br />something else, including affordable housing. <br /> <br /> -12- <br /> 10-3-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
