She added that at the first meeting, the <br />five Committee members present had arrived at a compromise to meet <br />once a week, with the first three meetings of the month in the <br />mornings and the last in the evening; the day of the week was <br />arbitrary. She stated that if the majority of the members wish to <br />have evening meetings, she would have to ask the Mayor to assign <br />someone else to chair the Committee as she would not be able to <br />make regular evening meetings. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that the Committee would be left as it is. <br />He requested Ms. Mohr to put the day and time of meetings as a <br />topic to be discussed at the Committee's next meeting, and asked <br />Mr. Caudill to make every effort to be at that meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Deryl Sturdevant, 1545 Orloff Drive, pointed out that at <br />a Council meeting a few months back, the installation of a traffic <br />light on Valley Avenue and Kolln Street was approved. He inquired <br />when this would be completed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer referred the question to Mr. Elliott. <br /> <br /> Mr. Elliott replied that the installation of that traffic <br />light was awarded at the last Council meeting, and work would <br />probably start in a week's time when the contractor gets his <br />materials on the site. It would take about two months to <br />complete. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sturdevant inquired about the possibility of having a <br />police officer at that intersection between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 <br />a.m. until the traffic light is installed, because the crossing <br />guards have complained that some drivers disregard the school <br />crossing sign. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer replied that he was not sure if the City had <br />enough police officers to have one out there everyday. He asked <br />Mr. Eastman if he could have at least a patrol car parked at a <br />location where it would be visible to the drivers. <br /> <br /> Mr. Eastman answered that he would attend to the matter. <br /> <br />6.
