MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Mr. Leo Heckathorn, 4202 Stanley Blvd., stated that he was <br />sorry to hear that Mr. Walker and Mr. Hill were retiring. <br /> <br /> Mr. Steve Daly, 1238 Orloff Drive, whose yard backs up onto <br />Valley Avenue, expressed his concern about an accident that <br />occurred two weeks ago knocking down part of the soundwalls. He <br />mentioned that people drive very fast down Valley Avenue and run <br />into a dangerous situation when they reach the traffic light on <br />Quarry Lane, past the Busch Road curve. He requested that a sign <br />be installed warning people of the oncoming traffic light. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer asked Mr. Elliott to install a sign advising <br />people of the traffic light ahead. <br /> <br /> Mr. Thurman Caudill, 4715 Augustine St., stated that he <br />received a letter appointing him to the Downtown Revitalization <br />Committee, and a Memorandum informing him of its first meeting on <br />September 18th at 8:00 a.m. He inquired if meetings could be held <br />at a more convenient day and time and if the members could be <br />consulted about this matter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Birdie Bianchi, 4329 Railroad Avenue, also expressed a <br />problem with the meeting time. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr explained that it is difficult to find a time when <br />all eleven members would be available and that based on a similar <br />experience the past year, 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. seemed to work well. <br />She mentioned that some members are downtown merchants who have <br />businesses to run, and her own job requires her to work evenings <br /> <br /> -3- <br /> <br /> 9-19-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
