134 '

It was moved by Mr. Tarver, and-seconded by Mr. Mercer, to
support the Board of Supervisors initiative petition to place a on
the November ballot a 5 cent tax increase on alcoholic beverages.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Tarver and Mayor Mercer
NOES: Councilmembers Brandes and Butler
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Stop Sign at the Corner of Dorman Road and West Las Positas

Mr. Mercer requested staff to prepare a report on the
possibility of installing a stop sign at the corner of Dorman Road
and West Las Positas.

Housing Authority and Ridge View Commons Management

Mr. Mercer requested staff to come up with a report on the
relationship of the Housing Authority with the management at Ridge
View Commons and other City housing projects.

E1 Charro Road Development

Mr. Brandes stated that the Council made a commitment to the
community regarding the gravel trucks. He requested staff to look
into what needs to be done in the next three years to ensure that
funds are allocated in the CIP budget for the E1 Charro Road
improvements, and to find out what can be expected from the
County.

Cost of Ridge View Commons

Mr. Brandes indicated that he has received letters from
citizens inquiring about the cost per unit of Ridge View Commons.
He stated that the cost appeared extraordinarily high, considering
that the City contributed the land. He requested staff to prepare
a report on the average cost per unit, including the breakdown of
that cost.

Foothill Road Lighting

Mr Brandes inquired what the status of the Foothill Road
lighting is.

Mr. Elliott explained that the foundations that have been
constructed for the originally planned lights do not fit the
interior lighting poles that Council requested to try out. The
poles cannot be changed because the bolts are located in different
locations. He stated that staff is looking for a possible
replacement for the poles.

Mr. Brandes commented that something still needs to be done
with the spacing of the poles because they are too close
together.

- 26 -
3-20-90
