370 <br /> <br /> Item 12c <br /> Certification of the Initiative Petition <br /> <br /> Ms. Ezidro presented her report (SR 90:286) regarding the <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver asked the City Attorney if there would be conflict <br /> if he voted on an initiative he supported. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush replied that there would be no conflict. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Mr. Butler, that <br /> Resolution No. 90-142 be adopted, certifying that the initiative <br /> petition for a General Plan amendment regarding the Pleasanton <br /> Ridgelands qualifies for the ballot. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmember Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Mr. Brandes, that <br /> Resolution No. 90-143 be adopted, placing the initiative on the <br /> November ballot. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmember Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: Councilmember Tarver <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Item 12d <br /> Review of Bids and Award of Contract for Leqal Publications <br /> <br /> Ms. Ezidro presented her report (SR 90:299) regarding the <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Maureen Brotherton, General Manager of the Valley Times, <br /> 127 Spring Street, indicated that the Staff Report addressed both <br /> issues raised regarding legal advertising. She offered to answer <br /> any questions or provide clarifications on the matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roger Grossman, Publisher of Tri-Valley Herald, 4770 <br /> Willow Road, thanked the City staff for taking the extra time to <br /> look closely at the issues. He suggested that the bid process be <br /> altered such that the bid would go for the first six months to the <br /> newspaper that submits the lowest bid, after which the other <br /> newspaper would have the option to take over at the same bid price <br /> <br /> 7-17-90 <br /> <br /> - 22 - <br /> <br /> <br />
