Callahan. Jr.. Application to Amend the Land <br />Use Element Designation of the General Plan from General and <br />Limited Industrial to High Density Residential or to Any Other <br />Land Use Designation for the 4.26 Acre Site Located at the <br />Southwest Comer of Rheem Drive and Oakland Avenue <br /> <br />Consider Adoption of a NeGative Declaration <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 90:247) regarding the <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the <br />application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Joseph Callahan, Callahan Property Company, stated that <br />his company has the option for the Heller Seasonings building, for <br />which he is proposing a 34-unit subdivision, including three low- <br />moderate income units and 31 units market rate homes. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brandes inquired if he had any opposition to any <br />conditions proposed by staff? <br /> <br />Mr. Callahan said that he did not. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Cordtz, Co-Chairman of the Affordable Housing <br />Committee, indicated his support for the project. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mr. Mercer declared the <br />public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brandes, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 90-113 be adopted, based on a review of an initial <br />environmental impact study done for this project and on a finding <br />that no significant environmental impact would occur as outlined <br />in the City's guidelines and on a further finding that a negative <br />declaration is appropriate in connection with GP-90-2, the <br />application of Joseph W. Callahan, Jr., to amend the land use <br />element designation of the General Plan from General and Limited <br />Industrial to High Density Residential or to any other land use <br />designation for the 4.26 acre site located at the southwest corner <br />of Rheem Drive and Oakland Avenue. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />- 23 - <br /> <br />6-19-90 <br /> <br /> <br />
