220 <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Tarver <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer requested staff to look into Mr. Hatton's <br /> complaint regarding parked trucks and have the Police Department <br /> spend some additional time in the area. <br /> <br /> Item 6b <br /> PUD-90-4, Jim Gentile/All-American Oil, Application to Approve a <br /> Development Plan for the Construction of an Underqround Tank, <br /> Truck Storaqe Yard and Related Improvements to be Located at 3100 <br /> Valley Avenue <br /> <br /> Consider Adoption of a Neqative Declaration <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 90:180) regarding the <br /> matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the <br /> application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Gentile, 3449 Virgil Circle, owner of All-American <br /> Oil, offered to answer questions regarding his application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer asked Mr. Gentile if he would be able to accept <br /> waste oil if the City sets up a system for people who change their <br /> own oil. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gentile replied that he could do that on Saturdays. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer thanked Mr. Gentile and stated that City staff <br /> would be working with him on the matter. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mr. Mercer declared the <br /> public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler commented that setting up some kind of a schedule <br /> where waste oil could be accepted would be something positive for <br /> the community. He asked Mr. Swift if the monitoring arrangements <br /> proposed for the tank meet all state requirements for the storage <br /> of hazardous materials. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift said yes. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr inquired if the City, like the State, has a regular <br /> monitoring program besides simply responding to complaints. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer replied that the Chemical Specialist of the Fire <br /> Department takes care of that. <br /> <br /> - 8 - <br /> 5-1-90 <br /> <br /> <br />
