She explained that the hours budgeted <br /> for park maintenance involve only lawn mowing and that an <br /> additional 1,800 hours would be needed to provide the daily <br /> preparation of the field that the Sports League is asking for <br /> during the season. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer inquired if the Park and Recreation Commission has <br /> recommended to the Council that additional big parks be built <br /> within the next five years. <br /> <br /> Ms. Bengtson said yes. She stated that the Commission has <br /> already identified the need for more community parks and has <br /> targeted two sites for that. However, it has also identified the <br /> shortfalls in building a sports field for the coming year. <br /> <br /> Postal Service on Railroad Avenue, Division and Spring Streets <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer indicated that the residents of Spring Street were <br /> advised by the Post Office that mail would not be delivered due to <br /> the construction work on Railroad Avenue, Division Street and <br /> Spring Street. He inquired when the construction would be <br /> completed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Elliott replied that it should be completed by <br /> mid-October, including the paving and sidewalk work. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer asked staff to check on the postal requirements for <br /> delivering mail. <br /> <br /> 6.
