136

Item 12g
Conceptual Approval of Use of City Flaq Designed byPrudential ana
Used at the Hacienda Business Park (SR 91:129)

Mr. Dave Williams, Director of Communications at Hacienda
Business Park, stated that a company that purchased some property
at Hacienda Business Park completed its building in September 1990
and asked to fly the City flag. He continued that since the City
did not have one, he requested the City Mayor and City Manager to
inquire if Hacienda Business Park could come up with a design for
the City flag. He then explained the City symbols used in the
design of the flag and added that the center design would be
enlarged by about 15%.

Ms. Mohr commented that white letters on a gold background are
not legible.

Mr. Mercer indicated that the letters would stand out better
if they were outlined in black.

Ms. Scribner remarked that since gold does not transfer to
cloth, the color may end up being yellow.

Mr. Williams replied that metallic-like gold thread would be
used for the border and that other alternatives would also be
considered.

Mr. Mercer stated that the design is very attractive and that
it should have a copyright.

Mr. Tarver agreed that the flag was done very well.

Item 12h
Adoption of Ordinance No. 1502, Approvinq the Application of
Sunwest Horizon for Rezoning and Development Plan Approval for th~
Construction of 27 Two-Stoz7 Townhomes to be Located on an
Approximately 2.3 Acre Site Generally East of the Old Santa Rita
Road/Santa Rita Road Street Intersection, as Filed Under Cas~
PUD-90-17

Mr. Amir Alborzi, representing Sunwest Horizon, stated that
after working with City Staff, it was determined that including
four affordable units to the project would make the 23 remaining
units less affordable for people who may be interested in
purchasing them. He indicated that there are creative financing
programs available, which would make the units affordable to first
time homebuyers.

- 30 -
4-2-91
