He inquired why Staff indicated that
Mr. Madden has the right to the railroad property in the area.

Mr. Madden replied that he was misquoted and that the railroad
right-of-way is not part of the six acre parcel. He added that the
City Council has repeatedly told the Planning Staff that the City
is not interested in a railroad on Stanley Boulevard.

There being no further testimony, Mr. Mercer declared the
public hearing closed.

Mr. Tarver requested a clarification on the Staff Report
statement that Pleasanton's General Plan designates the route as a
transportation corridor.

Mr. Mercer explained that if a light rail system is built, the
corridor will go not down towards Tracy but the other direction
towards San Ramon.

- 20 -
3-19-91
