59 <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer indicated that the suggestion to have flags on Main <br />Street on those occasions is good. He thanked Ms. Scribner and <br />congratulated her for an excellent job in connection with the <br />recognition activities for the military personnel serving in the <br />Persian Gulf and for their parents. He then appointed Ms. Scribner <br />to represent the City in the proposed Tri-Valley recognition <br />program. <br /> <br />Arroyo Trails <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver stated that at the Tri-Valley Trails Council <br />meeting, the Zone 7 representative had told him that Zone 7 is <br />willing to help the City of Pleasanton create a trails process <br />along the Arroyo. He suggested that staff prepare a report on the <br />matter if the City is interested in the trails system. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer asked Ms. Bengtson if staff still has the study on <br />trails along the Arroyo. <br /> <br /> Ms. Bengtson said yes. She added that staff is presently <br />studying the Zone 7 plans and would meet with Zone 7 <br />representatives in the near future. <br /> <br />City Regulation on the Use of Commercial Balloons <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that he received a letter from the radio <br />station, KKIQ, requesting the Council to review the City's <br />regulation regarding the use of commercial balloons and extending <br />its use from one day to three days. He requested staff to prepare <br />a report on the matter for Council to discuss at a later meeting. <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Bay Vision 2020 <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that at the Bay Vision 2020 Conveners' <br />Meeting, it was announced that the Bay Vision 2020 Committee would <br />be terminated after it presents its final report at the end of the <br />month and that an interim committee would continue meeting with the <br />conveners for another year. He indicated that the conveners could <br />support only two of the five goals and objectives presented by Bay <br />Vision 2020 and that they would try to bring the concerns of <br />locally elected officials and other people to the committee. <br /> <br /> - 9 - <br /> 3-5-91 <br /> <br /> <br />
