SPECIAL AND INFORMATION REPORTS <br /> Item 7a <br /> Actions of the Zoninq Administrator and of the Desiqn Review Board <br /> and Planninq Commission at Their Meetinqs of Februarv 26-27, 1991 <br /> (IR 91:11) <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr asked staffShat the conditions of approval were for <br /> V-91-3/Z-91-22, Wolthers/Aldenhuysen. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift replied that the conditions were that the same <br /> redwood lattice material at the top of the fence be used to box in <br /> the area beneath the deck and that the ivy that was planted in the <br /> area be extended up to where the lattice would be, to lessen the <br /> impact of the deck. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr inquired if the part of the deck by the side yard <br /> meets City standards. <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift said yes. <br /> <br /> 8. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Item 8a <br /> Appointment of City Treasurer <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that the City Treasurer, Ms. Nancy D'Arcy, <br /> has died and that Council could either appoint a new treasurer or <br /> hold a special election. He indicated that he would prefer to make <br /> an appointment rather than hold a special election and added that <br /> in the past, Councilmembers have been involved in selecting a <br /> candidate to fill a vacancy left by an elected official. He <br /> proposed that a subcommittee consisting of Ms. Mohr and Ms. <br /> Scribner be formed to interview the applicants and that based on <br /> the subcommittee's recommendation, the appointment would be made on <br /> Thursday, March 7th, at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Valley-wide Recoqnition for Returninq Militarv Service Personnel <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr stated that a suggestion was made at the Tri-Valley <br /> Council's dinner to have a Valley-wide recognition celebration for <br /> the returning military service personnel on Armed Forces Day. She <br /> suggested that Ms. Scribner serve as the liaison for the City. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner commented that she had received positive comments <br /> about the flags on Main Street. She stated that these flags were <br /> purchased through donations and would be given to the service <br /> personnel when they return. She suggested that the City purchase <br /> flags that can be placed on Main Street on appropriate occasions <br /> like Flag Day, the 4th of July, or Memorial Day. <br /> <br /> - 8 - <br /> 3-5-91 <br /> <br /> <br />
