345 <br /> <br />life in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Ms. Judy Bettencourt, a resident of Sunol, stated that in <br />order to provide a complete forum for the citizens of Pleasanton <br />and to give them the most accurate view of the possibilities on the <br />Ridgelands, the fact that a good proportion of the developable land <br />on the Ridgelands falls within the jurisdiction of another city <br />should be considered. <br /> <br /> Ms. Emily Carson, 2574 Skimmer Court, commented that she was <br />not in favor of the proposed committee because it would be nothing <br />more than a smaller version of the "stacked" general committee. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dagmar Fulton, 4019 Peregrine Way, stated that the Chair <br />and Vice Chair are entitled to be in the panel because they did a <br />lot of hard work, listened to both sides, and understand the pros <br />and cons of the issues. She added that the property rights of the <br />landowners should be respected and that these property owners <br />should be represented in the panel. Lastly, she pointed out that <br />the majority prevails and should be respected. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ron Horan, 876 Bonita Avenue, stated that Mr. Butler <br />provided the leadership to the Steering Committee that will be <br />necessary if the Steering Committee reconvenes to work on the plan. <br />He added that it would help the committee if Council indicated what <br />details and specifications it wanted included in the final plan <br />before the committee starts meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gary Gimmel, 7901 Dublin Canyon Road, a member of the <br />general committee, expressed concern about the integration of his <br />input, as well as everyone else's, into the final plan should the <br />Steering Committee be selected to prepare the final plan. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mr. Mercer declared the <br />public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that he personally felt the Steering <br />Committee, including the Planning Commission and the Council <br />representatives, was the appropriate body to reconvene because it <br />was evenly balanced and had a real grasp of the information that <br />needed to be generated about the Ridgelands. He indicated, <br />however, that what is important at this point is to continue the <br />process and bring about a resolution to the issues. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr stated that she initially felt that it would be <br />logical to reconvene the Steering Committee; however, after she got <br />a negative response from some of the Steering Committee members, <br />and because not all the members had been in regular attendance at <br />the full Committee meetings, she felt that the Steering Committee <br /> <br /> -7 - <br /> 7-30-91 <br /> <br /> <br />
