273 <br /> <br />Smokinq Ordinance <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver requested Staff to prepare a report on the <br />possibility of adopting a smoking ordinance similar to those of <br />other jurisdictions specifically restricting access to cigarette <br />vending machines by minors and prohibiting all smoking in <br />restaurants. <br /> <br />Funding for City Projects <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver stated that because of the City's budget situation, <br />there are no funds for the construction of some City projects such <br />as a Community Center and a new City Hall. He requested Staff to <br />look into ways in which the City can raise revenue to fund the <br />construction of facilities that the community needs. <br /> <br />Bay Vision 2020 <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer requested Staff to prepare a report on the Sierra <br />Club's position on Bay Vision 2020 for the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />9. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />East Bay Division of the Leaque of California Cities <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver indicated that the East Bay Division of the League <br />of California Cities adopted the same resolution passed by the <br />Council regarding limiting urban development to cities. He stated <br />that the resolution received a lot of support, both from the League <br />and from the Revenue and Taxation Policy Committee of the League. <br />He added that there were discussions on the State's position on the <br />distribution of city revenues and what actions the cities could <br />take in this regard. <br /> <br />10. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Item 10a <br />Ordinance No. 1510, Approvinq the Application of Roy Thompson for <br />Rezoning and Development Plan Approval, as Filed Under Case <br />PUD-90-21 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, that <br />Ordinance No. 1510 be adopted, approving the application of Roy <br />Thompson for rezoning and development plan approval, as filed under <br />Case PUD-90-21. <br /> <br /> - 20 - <br /> 6-18-91 <br /> <br /> <br />
