196

Item 6a
Public Hearinq Reqardinq the Assessments to Be Levied for the
Downtown Pleasanton Business Improvement District for 1991-92
(SR 91:194)

Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the
application.

There being no testimony, Mr. Mercer declared the public
hearing closed.

Council inquired if the assessments included the redrawing of
the boundaries and the redesign of the dues structure.

Ms. Pat Lane, Executive Director of the Pleasanton Downtown
Association, indicated that all was included.

Mr. Tarver indicated that he was disappointed that the
businesses that are trying to get out of the District do not feel
that it is appropriate to support the downtown area or to be
associated with it. He stated that the downtown is the heart of
Pleasanton and commended the Pleasanton Downtown Association for
what it does for the City.

It was moved by Mr. Butler, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, that
Resolution No. 91-79 be adopted, approving the assessments to be
levied for the Downtown Pleasanton Business Improvement District
for 1991-1992, as set forth in the Staff Report.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Item 6b
Downtown Parkinq Time Limits (SR 91:203)

Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the
application.

Ms. Ruby Greer, Main Street Spirits and Deli, indicated that
she agreed with the proposed changes. However, she pointed out the
proposal did not include the provision of 20-minute parking on the
corners on Main Street, as was discussed in March. She indicated
that this would be helpful to businesses like hers that have a high
turnover.

- 20 -
5-21-91
