MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS Appointment of Desiqn Review Board Members Based on the introduction of Ordinance 1520 tonight the process will be opened up for another thirty days and the Council can make all appointments in one evening. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS DOwntown Task Force Ms. Scribner stated that the Downtown Task Force has been meeting diligently for many months and has put out the first preliminaryplan which includes all the recommendations of the task force. The intention now is to take it to the Chamber of Commerce and the Pleasanton Downtown Association and present it for their comments. After those comments it will be brought back to the Council in final form. Purchase of the SP Riuht-of-Wav Ms. Scribner also presented to Council a request to submit a letter to the Alameda Congestion Management Program to apply for funding in order to acquire the SP Right-of-Way. In order for the City to purchase this right-of way the General Plan will need to be changed to incorporate a transportation corridor. Mr. Tarver pointed out that perhaps Alameda County should apply for the grant in that the County owns all the surrounding properties in that vicinity. Ms. Acosta suggested that the City should initiate the application but make the suggestion that the application be transferred to the County. It was moved by Mr. Tarver, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, that the City would initiate application for the grant to purchase the Old SP Right-Of-Way with Alameda County pursuing the purchase of the property.
