MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br /> Appointment of Desiqn Review Board Members <br /> <br /> Based on the introduction of Ordinance 1520 tonight the <br /> process will be opened up for another thirty days and the Council <br /> can make all appointments in one evening. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br /> DOwntown Task Force <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner stated that the Downtown Task Force has been <br /> meeting diligently for many months and has put out the first <br /> preliminaryplan which includes all the recommendations of the task <br /> force. The intention now is to take it to the Chamber of Commerce <br /> and the Pleasanton Downtown Association and present it for their <br /> comments. After those comments it will be brought back to the <br /> Council in final form. <br /> <br /> Purchase of the SP Riuht-of-Wav <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner also presented to Council a request to submit a <br /> letter to the Alameda Congestion Management Program to apply for <br /> funding in order to acquire the SP Right-of-Way. <br /> <br /> In order for the City to purchase this right-of way the <br /> General Plan will need to be changed to incorporate a <br /> transportation corridor. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver pointed out that perhaps Alameda County should <br /> apply for the grant in that the County owns all the surrounding <br /> properties in that vicinity. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta suggested that the City should initiate the <br /> application but make the suggestion that the application be <br /> transferred to the County. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Tarver, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, that <br /> the City would initiate application for the grant to purchase the <br /> Old SP Right-Of-Way with Alameda County pursuing the purchase of <br /> the property. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Mohr <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> 10-01-91 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
