56

It was moved by Mr. Butler, and 'seconded by Mr. Tarver, that
Ordinance No. 1521 be introduced, to be read by title only and
waiving further reading thereof, approving RZ-91-6, City of
Pleasanton, application to prezone an approximately 560 acre site
located east of Hearst Drive and south of Red Feather Drive to the
PUD (Planned Unit Development) - Rural Density Residential District
and Open Space or to any other zoning district consistent with the
General Plan.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: Mohr
ABSTAIN: None

Item 6c
PUD-91-8 (RZ-91-3], Russell K, Schaeffer; Application to rezone a
1,401± acre parcel located at 5059 Foothill Road from the
(Agricultural} to the PUD (planned unit Development) - Medi~lm
Density Residential DistriCt add for development plan aDDroyal for
a five lot sinqle-family residential development. (SR 91:409)

Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the
application.

There being no testimony, Mr. Mercer declared the public
hearing closed.

Mr. Tarvet posed a question to Staff regarding what the zoning
is of the property north and south of this property.

Mr. Swift answered that to the north is the Bridgman-Hutton
Project which is a PUD. The lots range in size from 8500 sq. ft.
and larger. To the south is the Highland Oaks Subdivision zoned
R-1 6500 and those lots range from 6500 sq. ft. on the flatter
areas to quite large lots on the cul-de-sacs. The ones on Forest
Hill Drive are slightly narrower and smaller than the ones proposed
here.

Responding to some confusion of Exhibit "A" - Plans and Design
Guidelines, presented in the Staff report, Mr. Swift pointed out
the various aspects of the rezoning on the map projected on the
screen.

It was moved by Mr. Butler, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, that
Resolution No. 91-168 be adopted, based on a review of an initial
environmental impact study done for this project and on a finding
that no significant environmental impact would occur as outlined in
the City's guidelines and on further finding that a negative
declaration is appropriate in connection with PUD-91-8 (RZ-91-3),
Russell K. Schaeffer.

10-01-91 10
