MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br /> ~tem 8a <br /> <br /> This item was considered earlier. <br /> <br /> Item 8b <br /> Resolution Ampointin~ Plannina Commissioner (SR92:236) <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that <br /> Resolution No. 92-160 be adopted, appointing Gone Finch as an <br /> Alternate Member of the Planning Commission for a four-year term <br /> expiring on 5/5/94. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Tarver and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmembers Butler and Scribner <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver stated that at the last Tri-Valley Transportation <br /> Council a few representatives from the San Joaquin coalition <br /> supported that they were currently studying a rail system and asked <br /> for other entities to participate in the study. He felt that a <br /> representative from Pleasanton should be involved in this study. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer indicated that four months ago a staff member <br /> from this group called him and apologized that the City was not <br /> invited to the first meeting. He responded, by indicating that he <br /> would not be on City Council after November but that he would be <br /> willing to attend. Mayor Mercer stated that he requested this <br /> invitation in writing and forwarded a copy to each Councilmember <br /> but had no response. He remained the representative until one was <br /> appointed to replace him. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr added that LAVTA was being represented at the <br /> meetings. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer added that the Cities of Dublin, Livermore, and <br /> Pleasanton, along withWheels, and Ed Campbell being represented at <br /> this time. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver requested clarification on who should participate <br /> in the discussions regarding the Ridge. He suggested having more <br /> than one Supervisor involved because he was aware of three <br /> Supervisors interested in the Ridge area. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer assumed that the Ridge was in Ed Campbell's <br /> District therefore, Mr. Campbell would be the Supervisor involved <br /> in the discussions <br /> <br /> 8/4/92 le <br /> <br /> <br />
