He <br />hoped that by the time he was prepared to submit his application, <br />the General Plan update process would be over. <br /> <br /> Kay Ayala, 4515 Gatetree Circle, asked who was on the San <br />Francisco Property Steering Committee and how they were chosen. <br />She asked this question because she felt that there should be <br />ordinary people on this Committee. She believed that there was a <br />genuine concern by the citizens about slowing this development <br />process up a little. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer explained that this process began in 1988. In <br />September of 1991 Council decided to appoint persons to this <br />Committee because the Citizens' Committee for the Ridge was in <br />turmoil. San Francisco asked the City of Pleasanton to start its <br />review in March but since the City missed that deadline, Council <br />decided to appoint a Steering Committee. The Committee consists of <br />a Planning Commissioner, Park and Recreation Commissioner, School <br />District Representative, Affordable Housing Task Force Committee <br />member, a citizen at large, a residential builder, a golf course <br />person, a small business operator, and two Councilmembers. He <br />stated that the Committee would hold public hearings and post those <br />dates on a sign on the property. Mayor Mercer indicated that Mark <br />Sweeney had to resign from the Committee as the Affordable Housing <br />Representative. He wished to appoint Maudeline Marshall as Mr. <br />Sweeney's replacement and appoint Lynn Dansker as the citizen at <br />large. The Committee's first meeting involved introductions and <br />setting dates for future meetings. At last night's meeting (the <br />second meeting of the Committee) every member disagreed with San <br />Francisco's proposed plan. It was decided by the Committee to <br />start from scratch and develop a new plan.
