62 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, and seconded by Vice Mayor <br /> Tarver, approving a trial period of blinking red lights at Rose <br /> Avenue/Neal Street intersection with Main Street. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmember Scribner and Vice Mayor Tarver <br /> NOES: Councilmember Mohr <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: Mayor Mercer and Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner to approve angled parking in the <br /> four blocks from St. John to Angela and Old Bernal on the east <br /> side. Motion died for a lack of a second. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr felt that Main Street would never be just a side- <br /> street where parking was a viable alternative; it would always be <br /> a thoroughfare to some degree. She did not feel that the extra <br /> parking spaces that would be created by flexible zoning was an <br /> issue. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver stated that the downtown merchants as well as <br /> community seemed to want the wider sidewalks. Option D seemed to <br /> be more consistent with the historic Pleasanton. He was attracted <br /> to the look that flexible zoning gave but did not think that it was <br /> appropriate for Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Vice Mayor Tarver, <br /> approving Option D (wider sidewalk) and excluding angled parking in <br /> any block of Main Street. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmember Mohr and Vice Mayor Tarver <br /> NOES: Councilmember Scribner <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: Mayor Mercer and Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr stated that she supported outdoor dining and felt <br /> that the wider sidewalk concept would lend itself most favorably to <br /> that. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, <br /> approving the concept of outdoor dining. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Scribner and Vice Mayor Tarver <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: Mayor Mercer and Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr stated that the level of lighting on Main Street <br /> needed to be evaluated, but changing fixtures should be deferred <br /> until there are more funds. <br /> <br /> 6/2/92 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
