235 <br /> <br /> money had been spent by the City and property owners in Golden <br /> Eagle to put this subdivision back on track. He requested that the <br /> house size of 7,000 square feet be maintained. <br /> <br /> Rick Duroza, 439 Neal Street, property owner in Golden Eagle <br /> Farms, felt that it would be unfair for Council to change the house <br /> size guidelines at this time. Many of the lot/home owners <br /> purchased their lots with certain understandings. This issue had <br /> been visited and thought about very carefully by the Council in the <br /> past. <br /> <br /> Thomas Ford, P O Box 3005, Danville, property owner in Golden <br /> Eagle Farms, explained that when he purchased his property the PUD <br /> read that a house could be built up to 7,000 square feet. Although <br /> he was not planning on building a house of that size, the reduction <br /> in the size would affect him as well. He asked that Council not <br /> reduce the house size and maintain it at 7,000 square feet as <br /> previously decided. <br /> <br /> Dr. Milton G. Deemer, 1914 Buckeye Court, stated that he had <br />paid $350,000 for his high visibility lot. He asked, historically, <br />how the Golden Eagle homes could be compared to a "medium" size <br />home in Pleasanton which would cost $300,000. He did not <br />understand how "medium" applies. He understood that the homes were <br />visible but there are guidelines set for their landscaping which <br />when complete will hide the house. He asked that Council not <br />change the guidelines. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico asked if Dr. Deemer had applied for his permits. <br /> <br /> Dr. Deemer stated yes. It has taken him two years to design <br />his home and he hoped to build in March 1993. <br /> <br /> Antoine Neo, P O Box 3069, Danville, owner of Lot 14, stated <br />that he purchased his lot two years ago and at that time he was <br />aware of the problems with the visibility. He is a local <br />architect. He will be greatly affected by the reduction in size of <br />the houses. He concluded that it was not be the size of the house <br />that should be the issue, it should be the design and character of <br />it. <br /> <br /> Randy Edder, owner of Lot 32, 1941 Clover Court, explained <br />that his home is planned to be over 7,000 square feet. It is his <br />family's life long dream to build this home and he planned on <br />living in the home for the rest of his life. He recently submitted <br />his applications for building permits. He felt that it was unfair <br />for Council to now change the guidelines after owners have designed <br />their homes. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico asked if Mr. Edder had received Design Review Board <br />approval. <br /> <br />12/15/92 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
