246

It was decided that this matter would be placed on the
January 12, 1993 City Council Workshop agenda

Item 9d
Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority

Ms. Mohr explained that a retired lady on Sonoma Drive has
been complaining that the busses were waking her up in the
mornings. A petition was given from people who use the bus,
pleading that it stay on the street and the lady brought in another
petition from people who do not use the bus. This matter is on the
next LAVTA agenda.

Mayor Tarver indicated that he has never received minutes for
the LAVTA meetings.

Staff was directed to have copies of the LAVTA meeting minutes
be distributed to the Mayor and Council.

Mayor's Conference

Mayor Tarver stated that he recently attended the Mayor's
Conference. Mayor Carp had indicated that the President-elect was
considering providing funding for projects that were ready to go in
order to set things moving. Mayor Carp had requested a list from
each City of such projects. Mayor Tarver said that he thought
about the BART extension, 1-580/I-680 flyover and the Main Street
reconstruction. He was not sure that those projects would qualify
as "ready to go" projects for that type of funding.

Ms. Acosta stated that staff had prepared a list of projects
and the Main Street reconstruction was included in the list, but
the 1-580/I-680 was not. She would add that project to the list.
Mayor Carp requested that this list be delivered to him today but
next week is the deadline to fax this material to the United States
Conference of Mayors.

Ms. Mohr referred to the First Street project, the section of
Hopyard from the bridge to where it was already widened, and the
Southern Pacific right-of-way and asked if those projects could be
added to the list.

Mr. Elliott indicated that the Hopyard project could be added
if Council requested, because the design plans were complete. He
stated that the design work was not complete on the First Street
project. The project on West Las Positas between Foothill and the
freeway could be added.

Mayor Tarver asked if the plans and specifications were ready
for the Foothill Road project.

Mr. Elliott answered no. He also understood this list was to

12/15/92 20
