24O

Brian Dutchover, 5579 San Antonio Street, pointed out the
different committees that he has been involved with and felt that
nobody has been left out or not given the opportunity to be part of
the process. He reiterated that most of those involved in the
process have been involved since the beginning and are also
residents and business owners.

Ruby Greer, 4774 Del Valle Parkway, reiterated that the public
has had the opportunity to be involved in this process for the past
couple of years. She felt that the people have had the opportunity
to be involved in the process and now is the time that the design
professionals need to make the decisions.

Bruce Takens, 57 W. Neal Street, owner of Meadowlark Dairy and
President of the Downtown Association, felt that this process
needed to continue as planned. He did not have a problem with
having a mock-up but was opposed to turning it into an event.

Mr. Pico stated that his objective in asking for the mock-up
was to allow the public to have input to the plan before any big
mistakes were made. He felt that if the mock-up is only being done
for him then he would suggest canceling it.

Ms. Scribner asked the status of the renderings.

Ms. Acosta replied that staff is currently working on them.

Mayor Tarver said he has not changed his opinion of having a
mock-up and renderings. He saw nothing wrong with giving the
community an opportunity to see as well, if they are interested.
He also believed that this should be well publicized.

It was moved by Ms. Scribner, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, to
have the material samples and renderings viewed for 1-1/2 to 2
hours; with notice provided as with any other City Council meeting.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Pico, Scribner and Mayor Tarver
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Ms. Mohr felt that a workshop immediately following the
viewing of the mock-up was appropriate. This would allow those
people who viewed the mock-up a chance to give input.

Ms. Scribner asked if this was to be a workshop or regular
meeting.

Mr. Roush explained that if Council intended on making any
decisions, a Special Council meeting would need to be called.

12/15/92 14
