205 <br /> <br /> Item 3b <br /> Installation of NewIv Elected Officials <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer called Judge A1 Lewis to swear the newly elected <br /> officials into office (Ms. Mohr and Mr. Pico, Councilmembers and <br /> Ben Tarver Mayor). Judge Lewis administered the oath of office to <br /> the newly elected Councilmembers and Mayor. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr stated that she was looking forward to the <br /> opportunity to work with Mr. Tarver as Mayor. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico felt extremely humble at the honor and trust that the <br /> community had placed in him. He stated that he will do his job to <br /> the best of his ability. He thanked his supporters and his family <br /> for the support. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver recognized his wife and children. He also thanked <br />all of his supporters. He was excited to have this opportunity but <br />also worried about being able to follow in Mr. Mercer's footsteps. <br />Mr. Tarver stated that he would put much energy into representing <br />the City regionally and working with the Council to continue to <br />improve the community. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner congratulated Mr. Tarver, Ms. Mohr and Mr. Pico. <br />She hoped that Ms. Mohr's longevity on the Council would help her <br />continue to make the best decisions for Pleasanton. She also hoped <br />that Mr. Pico would use some ofthe same traits, logic and <br />analytical thinking, that Mr. Butler did in making the decisions. <br /> <br />4, ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> There being no further business at that time, the meeting was <br />recessed at 6:45 p.m., to reconvene at 7:30 p.m., in the City <br />Council Chambers. <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Ben C. Tarver reconvened the Regular Meeting of the City <br />Council at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded <br />as follows: Councilmembers Karin Mohr, Dorothy N. Scribner, Thomas <br />P. Pico, Jr. and Mayor Ben C. Tarver. Staff members present were: <br />Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Michael H. Roush, City Attorney; <br />Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; <br />Joseph Elliott, Director of Public Works and Utilities; and Gail <br />Gilpin, Transportation Systems Manager. <br /> <br />12/ /92 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
