PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Item 15b <br />Review of "Vintaqe Visions", a wineqrowers' association plan for <br />enhancing viticulture and related tourism in the Valley (SR92:449) <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner and seconded by Ms. Mohr, <br />endorsing the Vintage Visions corridor concept and directing staff <br />to work with the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association and the <br />Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce to develop a wine country sign <br />program for an access corridor through Pleasanton. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 15a <br />City of Pleasanton Downtown Revitalization Plan <br />Consider the adoption of the Draft Downtown Revitalization Plan, <br />prepared by the DowntownTask Force, containinq recommendations and <br />policies for the improvement of Downtown (SR92:476) <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer and Councilmember Butler did not participate due <br />to conflicts of interest. <br /> <br /> Jerry Iserson, Principal Planner, presented the staff report <br />to Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing open on the <br />application. <br /> <br /> Peter MacDonald, 400 Main Street, President of the Chamber of <br />Commerce, thanked staff, the Task Force, and Ms. Scribner for <br />working together on this project. He explained that it seemed like <br />a good idea to restrict the ground floor units to retail only, but <br />the property owners were greatly concerned with this restriction. <br />This would effect the potential investors as well. He further <br />explained that there was no clear right or wrong as to what makes <br />the downtown go; it is the diversity of what fits. <br /> <br /> Joyce Getty, 925 Kottinger Drive, believed that there should <br />be no problem for property owners to lease their properties to <br />retail users. She asked what defined retail use in the downtown <br />area. The banks will have the most problem renting to retail. It <br />was important to consider the definition of retail and that there <br />be retail only on the ground floor.
