162 <br /> <br /> Shelby Martin, Executive Director of the Pleasanton Chamber of <br /> Commerce, 450 Main Street, Suite 202, commended the City for the <br /> establishment of the Economic Advisory Committee. She pointed out <br /> that the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors supported the draft <br /> report at its October 28 meeting. She referred to the Chamber's <br /> report that was given at the Economic Development Conference which <br /> provided a comparison of the businesses of the 14 cities. <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler commented that Bruce Kern's involvement in this <br /> plan is a definite example that the County involvement in matters <br /> of mutual concern is not antagonistic and the City and County can <br /> work together for economic growth. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer added that there were a few other members in the <br /> audience that needed to be recognized as well: Tom Terrill, Bob <br /> Silva, Frank Capilla and Kyle Morgan. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner asked what the process is after this plan was <br /> accepted. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer explained that each of the action items would be <br /> brought back to Council for action. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Butler, and seconded by Mr. Tarver, to <br /> approve conceptually the Economic Development Committee's <br /> conclusions and recommendations. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Horse Ordinance <br /> <br /> Johnny King, P O Box 371, Orinda, spoke in regards to the <br /> Horse Ordinance.
