21

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Scribner, Tarver and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Item 8c
HOme si=es in the Golden Eaqle Farm Development

Mr. Tarver referred to a letter that the Mayor had written
regarding the Golden Eagle Farm homes and asked that Council
reconsider the house sizes because the homes were not coming out
the way that he had envisioned them. He felt that the homes
appeared massive on the hill which is what he hoped was going to be
avoided. Mr. Tarver was not pleased with the way these 7000 sq.
ft. homes appeared on the hill.

Mayor Mercer abstained from the discussion because he had a
conflict of interest.

Council agreed to reconsider the house sizes of the Golden
Eagle Farm project. This matter would be taken up at the
October 20, 1992 City Council meeting.

Item 8d
"~Ckloq"

Mayor Mercer requested that the so called "backlog" be placed
on the future agenda for clarification. He understood that the
numbers were confusing and he wanted to be able to explain numbers.

'Mr. Tarver thought it was a good idea to have terms defined so
that everybody can agree on what it is. He did not agree with the
way these units were categorized.

There was discussion regarding the number of units under
construction and those in backlog.

Mr. Butler was not sure what the point was of discussing this
issue again. He believed that nowhere in the Growth Management
ordinance is the term "backlog" used. He felt that the numbers
speak for themselves.

Mayor Mercer was concerned with the misunderstanding that
people have regarding the number of houses being built and those in
backlog. He wanted to make it clear that Council only approved 468
units for the growth management period. There were 858 units that
were unanimously approved outside of the growth management program.
