121 <br /> <br /> Brian Boyd, 4512 Second Street, spoke in favor of this item. <br /> <br /> Council expressed its support in televising the Council <br />meetings. It agreed that televising these meetings provides close <br />communication with the community and the newsletter will informthe <br />community ahead of time what will be on the agenda. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta reiterated that staff's recommendation is to <br />approach Viacom to pay the cost. <br /> <br />It was moved by Mayor Tarver, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, <br />(1) authorizing staff to meet with Tri-Valley Community Television <br />to discuss equipment specifications and guidelines; (2) meet with <br />the school district to establish a shared channel capacity on <br />Channel 37; (3) Mr. Pico to meet with Viacom Cablevision to provide <br />the necessary system insertion equipment; and (4) staff to meet <br />with Tri-Valley Community Television to draft an appropriate format <br />and schedule for a regularly scheduled video newsletter. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner and Mayor <br /> Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico asked that Council consider having the video tape of <br />the meetings become the official record of the meeting rather than <br />the written minutes. <br /> <br />Item 8c <br />MTC Eastern Corridor Planning Reconnaissance Report (Hiqhway 84 <br />Toll Road) (IR 93:22) <br /> <br /> Bill van Gelder, Traffic Engineer, presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> In response to the Councilmembers' concerns, Mr. van Gelder <br />discussed various options regarding the building and funding of the <br />Toll Road. <br /> <br /> The following people spoke in opposition to the Toll Road: <br />David Spear, 49 Adams Way; Mark Evanoff, Greenbelt Alliance, 116 <br />New Montgomery #640, San Francisco, 94105, Fred Aidridge, 4045 <br />Ponoma Way, Livermore, 94550. <br /> <br /> The following residents spoke in support of this project: <br />Robert Allen, 223 Donner Avenue, Livermore 94550, and Robert <br />Cordtz, 262 West Angela. <br /> <br /> Shelby Martin, Chamber of Commerce, 450 Main Street, <br />reiterated that the Chamber supports Phase I of the proposed Mid- <br /> <br />3/16/93 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
