425 <br /> <br />Item 6c <br />Request for Clarification of Economic Dev¢10pmCnt CQrnmil~ee Representatives (SR93: 31) <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver recommended that the representative from the Downtown businesses be <br />recommended by the Pleasanton Downtown Association Board in the same way that the Chamber <br />of Commerce did. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner felt that the Committee was too large. She recommended that the following <br />representatives be eliminated from the Committee: Stoneridge Mall, Citizen At-Large, Visitors <br />and Convention Bureau, Educational Community, and Downtown Businessperson. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner to remove the following representatives from the <br />Committee: Stoneridge Mall, Citizen At-Large, Visitors and Convention Bureau, Educational <br />Community, and Downtown Businessperson. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of second <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico was concerned with eliminating a Citizen at-large position. He suggested <br />eliminating the Industry Manufacturing representative. Ms. Scribner disagreed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr supported eliminated a few positions from the Committee with the <br />understanding that if at a later time Council wished to add to the Committee it may do so. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver disagreed. He believed that the Committee was not too large and that it <br />was "healthy" to have a large representation. Mr. Pico agreed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, to eliminate the following <br />representatives from the Committee: Stoneridge Mall, Citizen At-Large, Visitors and <br />Convention Bureau, Educational Community. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr and Scribner <br />NOES: Councilmember Pico and Mayor Tarver <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Pico, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that Resolution No. 93-20, be <br />adopted, establishing the Economic Development Advisory Committee Representatives; <br />Downtown Business representative to be selected by the Downtown Association. <br /> <br />02/02/93 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
