Removal of Board and Commission Members

A majority vote of the Council shall be
required to remove a member from a City board,
commission, committee or task force. The
recommendation for removal may be made by any
Council member. The full Council shall then
vote on the removal."

The vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Mohr, Pico, Scribner, and Mayor Tarver
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

There was then discussion about removing items from the
Consent Calendar and moving the items to another part of the
agenda. The question was whether a single Councilmember could do
that or whether the action required amajority of the Council.
Another question dealt with adding matters to an agenda. Ms.
Acosta indicated if the subject would take a great deal of
research, it should not be added to an agenda unless the majority
of the Council requested it.

The feeling was that if a Councilmember had many questions,
the questions should be presented to staff before the meeting and
if the answers were not provided or clear enough, the item should
be removed to the next agenda.

2B.
