Funding- 5 <br /> <br /> ~or the Pleasanton Convention & Visitors Bureau. <br /> <br />Economic Development Committee <br /> <br /> In June o~ 1992 a temporary Economic Development Task <br />Force was formed by the City and met for four months, then <br />sent a report to City Council outlining numerous <br />recommendations. These included that the city needed to <br />attract new businesses and also foster communications to <br />retain business. The CVB has been fulfilling that need for <br />four years now. The funding of the CVB demonstrates the <br />city's commitment to the hotels, restaurants and all other <br />businesses in Pleasanton that profit from increased business <br />~rom out-of-town guests. The exposure the city gains ~rom <br />our presence at trade shows is hard to track but, I am sure <br />everyone would agree, the trick to bringing businesses to <br />Pleasanton is to get them to come take a look. No one has a <br />more attractive downtown, better office parks or easier <br />access to main highways. By bringing 8e,350 people to visit <br />each year, surely we are getting needed exposure for the <br />community. <br /> <br /> Currently, the T.O.T. produces $1,532,109.~ dollars in <br />revenue to the city. It was the fourth largest producer of <br /> <br /> <br />
