Lewis Helgeson, 782 Abbie Street, spoke in favor of keeping Mirador open but <br /> suggested that the realignment and stop lights at Independence and Mirador be considered. <br /> <br /> The following citizens spoke in opposition to opening Mirador Drive: Wallace Decker, <br /> 763 Bonde Court (representing his neighborhood); Joan Tenbrink, 4265 Mirador Drive; <br /> Jeancite H. Smith, 774 Bonde Court; and Karin Kearl, 4524 Mirador Drive. <br /> <br /> Charlotte Severin, 4513 Mirador Drive, stated that these two neighborhoods should not <br /> be against one another. She acknowledged that there is a severe traffic problem in this area that <br /> needs to be resolved. She believed' that additional studies were needed. <br /> <br /> Dean Buchenauer, 894 Bonita Avenue, was opposed to this hearing process and believed <br /> that this type of change should be considered with the changes to the General Plan. <br /> <br /> Les Laire, 43 Adams Way, expressed his concern with the automobile and pedestrian <br /> traffic on Adams Way should Mirador be opened. <br /> <br /> Jill Morrow, 803 Bonde Court, objected to Mirador being opened because of increased <br /> crime and traffic. <br /> <br /> Katheryn Frye, 874 Bonde Court, believed that it is the responsibility of all homeowners <br /> to research the General Plan etc. before buying a home. <br /> <br /> Frank DePiere, 83 1 East Angela, inquired about the referendum process. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush stated that if the General Plan is amended to provide that Mirador Drive be <br /> closed, it is subject to a referendum. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Council took a break at 10:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened at 10:18 p.m. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver indicated that the following items wouM be heard this evening and all <br /> others will be continued to the August 4, 1993 Special O'ty Council meeang: Request of john <br /> Caroline to Terminate Growth Management Program Exemption Agreement Concerning Arroyo <br /> Village and the Consideration of Alternatives for Street Furniture for Main Street. <br /> <br /> Ms. Scribner supported keeping Mirador Drive open. She stated that Mirador being open <br /> has remained in the General Plan through every General Plan review. <br /> <br /> 08/03/93 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
