He did not support the
staff recommendation because he felt that there were other alternatives to opening Mirador.

Ms. Scribner believed that all public streets should be open to the public. She was
opposed to keeping Mirador closed. She added that the burden of traffic should be shared
throughout the City.

Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing open on the item.

Kenneth Harem, Vice President, Saint Augustine Parish Council, spoke in opposition to
the closing of Angela because it would divert traffic to the Church's parking lot. He would be
--- willing to cooperate in establishing an education program for the members.

Patricia Hageman, 786 Bonita Avenue, felt that the streets should all be open or all be
closed. She expressed her concern with traffic safety.

The following citizens spoke in favor of keeping Mirador Drive open: Jim Duncan, 617
Angela Street; John Palmer, 355 E. Angela Street, (A petition was previously given to Council).

Keith Wardin, 2931 Liberty Drive, was adamantly opposed to this Councils' changing
the decisions that had been made by a previous Council.

David Spear, 489 Adams Way, agreed that there is a traffic problem in this area but that
there are other alternatives available which could be considered.

Sharrell Michellotti, 7873 Olive Court, Planning Commissioner, stated that there will be
less traffic impacts if there were more roads open.
