Gail Gilpin said the Hacienda Business Park has set high standards in the field of <br />commute altematives and PeopleSoft has over one-half of its employees who utilize a "work at <br />home" option, uses a people mover (shuttle), a guaranteed ride home, and check incentive <br />program. <br /> <br /> James Paxson, Hacienda Business Park, thanked the City for the recognition and for its <br />help in the making the 1-680 Express Route such a success. He looked forward to continued <br />success in the future. <br /> <br /> Don Kerr, PeopleSoft, thanked the City for the recognition and its cooperation with <br />making the programs successful. <br /> <br />Other Speakers <br /> <br /> Rene Steinhauer, 5524 Oakmont Circle, had concerns with the possible radioactive <br />contamination of the Bernal property and presented various documents to Council. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti said the farming operation on the Bernal property has ceased while testing <br />of the soil is being performed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Steinhauer mentioned a letter drafted by Mee Ling Tung, Environmental Health <br />Services, asking the interested parties to get together to discuss this issue further. He said the <br />people have a right to know and hoped the City would not be stampeded into any kind of <br />agreement with San Francisco. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> <br />Item 6a <br />(1) Resolution declaring funds in the account for the Pleasanton Township County Water <br /> District Assessment District #3 as surplus and directing the funds to be used for <br /> maintenance. <br />(2) Resolution approving Santos Ranch Road Maintenance Agreement. <br />{3} Resolution approving a Maintenance Agreement with the East Bay Regional Park <br /> District for roads within the Pleasanton Township County Water District Assessment <br /> No. 3 boundaries. (SR99:238) <br /> <br /> Randall Lum presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico asked about the surplus monies and what other possible uses are available. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lum said the surplus was created from an assessment district, which purpose was to <br />construct roadways. Only Santos Ranch Road was constructed, so the City explored with bond <br />counsel how the money could be appropriately used.
