are member of the Pleasanton Downtown Association. He supported Alternate No. 1 rather than No. 2, because he is an at large member on a Pleasanton Downtown Association committee. Mayor Tarver said he was trying to balance residential property owners and commercial property interests. Mr. Pico felt the PLA should be represented on the committee. Mayor Tarver said the interviews were held on the applications submitted. Everyone expressed the same interests, the same concerns and values. He said the same thing that he said to everyone. The whole point of the committee is to make it as broad and far reaching and involve as many people as possible. He would like to have the PLA's involvement in the process and it can be involved by attending the meetings. He did not want to go through another process so was going to support Alternative No. 1. He hoped the PLA would participate through the process as stated. Ms. Ayala did not want to readvertise. It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 99-059, ratifying the Mayor's recommended, Alternative No. 1 for the Downtown Specific Plan Committee. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Tarver. NOES: Councilmember Pico. ABSENT: None. ABSTAIN: None. Ms. Michelotti asked if the committee would form a residential group. She encouraged everyone to participate. Mayor Tarver said the committee would decide how it wants the committee to form. Mr. Pico strongly believed the PLA should be part of the committee. Ms. Ayala said while participating on the Downtown Parks and Trails Committee there was always audience participation. She said when there is a project where people are working towards common goals everyone participates that is interested.
