Adopt Resolution No. 99-024, amending the Pleasanton City Employees Association <br /> (PCEA) salary schedule to reflect new job classifications and salary ranges for the <br /> Pleasanton Municipal Library. (SR99:66) <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta mentioned the City is one step closer to becoming a municipal library and is <br />recruiting for the available positions. <br /> <br />j. Adopt Resolution No. 99-025, amending the Master Fee Schedule for plumbing, <br /> mechanical and electrical permits and amending various other fees (microfilm, fast track <br /> plan checking, plan check copy model fee, building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical <br /> permit fees) charged by the Building DeparUnent. (SR99:75) <br /> <br />k. Accept the report on the cable television franchise renewal process and authorize the <br /> Mayor to appoint one Council representative to serve on the Tri-Valley Cities Cable <br /> Television Franchise Renewal Ad-Hoc Committee. (SR99:67) <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver. <br />NOES: None. <br />ABSENT: CouncilmemberAyala. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Reuben Davis, 7857 Lafayette Court, had concerns over the water rate increase. He said <br />the rise in rates is hard on someone who lives on a limited income. He expressed his concerns <br />over other increasing rates. He believed the city made money on licenses and that money could <br />be used to help reduce the rates. He spoke at great length about his views of the City Council. <br />He stunmarized by asking Council not to raise any taxes. <br /> <br /> Kathy Narum, President, Pleasanton Seahawks Swim Team, said the Seahawks will be <br />hosting the 1999 Far Western Short Course Swim Championship at the Dolores Bengtson <br />Aquatic Center, March 25 through March 28. She said without the addition of the 50-meter pool <br />this event would not be possible. She said approximately 1300-1500 swimmers will be <br />participating, with 31 swimmers from the Seahawks Team. She appreciated the support from <br />City staff in preparing for this event. She presented Council with T-shirts and a VIP parking <br />pass and invited the Council to attend the swim meet. <br /> <br /> Neil Nelson, 8088 Bethel Lane, said he received a letter from the Planning Department <br />stating that the City cannot approve his grading plan until it receives the details.
