Vicki Thomas, 27933 Via Ventana, Los Altos Hills, requested that Council approve the
extension. She listed those neighbors who were in support of the subdivision, etc.

Gary Schwaegerle, 189 W. Angela Street, spoke in support of improving the roadway
at this location.

Chris Schlies, 3972 Fernwood Way, (351 St. Mary Street), representing George Ricci,
agreed that the roadway needs to be improved. His client had previously reached an agreement
with the applicant, but the roadway location has since been changed.

George Ricci, 5200 Foothill Road, was willing to further negotiate because he was
hoping to reach an agreement so the project could proceed.

Bill Newnam, property owner (previously Ms. Ku's property), asked for clarification of
the location of the sewer connection. He was concerned that he may have to use/connect to the
sewer line if he were to allow the Thomases to place it through his property.

There was considerable discussion regarding the sewer connection and the City's
regulations and the location of the cul-de-sac bulb.

Mr. Swift explained how the 400 square feet of property could be returned to Mr. Ricci.

Mr. Shutts rebutted. He believed that the value of Mr. Sanders property is far less than
what Mr. Ricci wants. He felt that the offer made to Mr. Ricci is more than generous. He
stated that Mr. Ricci has been aware of his obligation to participate in this road before he
purchased the property.

Mayor Tarver asked if there were a possibility of a continuance to resolve this
disagreement/problem before the Council made its decision.

Mr. Shutts explained that Mr. Thomas has offered all that he is willing to do. He would
agree to a continuance if Council believed it would be beneficial.

There being no further testimony, Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing closed.

It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, to continue this item to the
June 21, 1994 City Council meeting to allow the applicant, neighbors and staff to discuss further
this project and to try to reach some agreement.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner and Mayor Tarver
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
._ ABSTAIN: None

06/07/94 7
