MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> <br />Item ~1> <br />Consider purchase of patriotic decorations for display on Main Street during certain <br />holidays (SR94:163) <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, allocating $1,500 to <br />purchase 40 U.S. Flags and brackets for downtown Pleasanton and $1,500 be added to the <br />operating budget of the Department of Parks and Community Services, Park Maintenance <br />Division, for contract services to display the flags three times during the year. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Assault Weapons Ban <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver requested that discussion of H.R. 4296, regarding assault weapons ban be <br />placed on the June 21, 1994 City Council meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />Bus Stop at St. Mary's and Peters <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver requested that discussion of the bus stop at St Mary' s and Peters be placed <br />on a future agenda or perhaps refer it to LAVTA for consideration. <br /> <br />Visit from Assemblyman Rainey <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver announced that Assemblyman Rainey will be at Wente Brothers, <br />May 18, 1994, at 7:00 p.m., for a session of "Ask Your Assemblyman". <br /> <br />Campaign Reform Act <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver requested that an item be added to a future agenda to prohibit contributions <br />seven days prior to an election. <br /> <br />Item 7d <br />Resolution aoproving the 1994 Weed Abatement Program and authorizing staff to proceed <br />(SR94: 171) <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Scribner, and seconded by Ms. Mohr, that Resolution No. 94-61, be <br />adopted, declaring weeds and other refuse as a public nuisance and authorizing staff to proceed. <br /> <br />05/17/94 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
