(2) Rejection of Out-Dated Bids (SR94:23) <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Mohr, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, rejecting the outdated bids. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />(3) Accentance and Award of Contract for Bids Received on 1/11/94 for the Construction <br />of the Traffic Signal at the Corner of Stoneridge Drive and Chabot Drive - NPID-1 <br />(SR94:29) <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Dennis, and seconded by Ms. Scribner, awarding the contract for <br />the project to GAB Construction, Inc. of San Jose for a low bid of $101,933. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Mohr, Pico, Scribner and Mayor Tarvet <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 7b <br />Water Rate Adjustment (SR93:466) <br /> <br /> Mr. Cusenza presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr questioned the effect, if any, this adjustment would have on a senior citizen. <br /> <br /> Ms. Rossi explained that a senior with low consumption will not see a dramatic change. <br /> <br /> Robert Cordtz, 262 W. Angela, supported the adjustment. He recommended the <br />following: 1) that the 20% discount remain for seniors; 2) that the age for seniors to receive <br />discounts be increased to 65; and 3) that the 20 % discount should be removed for the Pleasanton <br />Unified School District. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico objected to the proposed rate surcharge based on elevation. He believed that <br />this was not equal and that it confuses the issue rather than simplifies it.
