Mayor Tarver stated that the City did not need as high a regional rate increa~ as in the <br />past and hoped that DSRSD will reflect Council's comments and keep the increases lower. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked what type of increase will come with the replacement project. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lure stated it comes from the regional fee. If there isn't an expansion project and <br />it needs to be funded directly by current users at the current size and capacity of that pipe, it <br />would be in the order of a 16-17% increas~ to the rates. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti asked if there were an expansion project along with that, what would the <br />increase be. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lure replied the increase could be as low as 5 % depending on how the costs are <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> There being no testimony, Mr. Tarvet declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, and seconded by Ms. Dennis, that Ordinance No. 1671 <br />be introduced, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, amending the sewer <br />rates and charges as set forth in the staff report. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarvet <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Mohr <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 6e <br /> plan for retirement of debt owed by California Theatre Wln~_ (Formerly ChHdren's Theatre <br /> Workshop) (SR95:418) <br /> <br /> Dolores Bengtson presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Les Duman, 7567 Olive Drive, President of CTW, thanked the City for working with <br /> CTW and felt that the staff recommendation (Option #1) was the best solution, even though <br /> Option #2 had some things to consider. CTW would like to continue working with the Park and <br /> Recreation Department. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico commented that the City has set aside a youth fund to be used for special youth <br /> programs. He suggested that CTW talk to the Human Services Commission about potential <br /> opportunities to use that fund in some way to accomplish some of the goals in Option <br /> <br /> 12/05/95 -22- <br /> <br /> <br />
