Mayor Tarver said the average residentizd user who uses 23,000 gallons of water bi- <br />monthly is in the first tier and will pay $1 .20/month more. If the user is in the second tier and <br />uses 56,000 units/day, that person will pay $3.00/month more. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lure stated the average customer uses 210/units per year. That customers will have <br />an increase of $.79/month. Moderate users would have an increase of $2. 14/month and a high <br />user $4.00/month. Mr. Lure stated that this is a fiat 3% increase which will be taken every <br />other year under the proposal. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico thanked staff for all its efforts in informing everyone. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver declared the public hearing open on the item. <br /> <br /> Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muirwood Drive, felt that people should pay for the cost of their <br />water and those who live at higher elevations should pay the cost to deliver it to their homes. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti indicated she had received a call from a Mr. Leonard with concerns about <br />the water quality. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mr. Tat'ver declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Pico, and seconded by Ms. Michelotti, that Resolution No. 95-144, <br />be adopted, to adjust the current water rates and charges for Calendar Year 1996, revising the <br />residential quantity charges from 0-30 units from $1.18 to $1.22/unit; 31-75 units from <br />$1.47/unit to $1.51/unit and over 75 units from $1.61/unit to $1.66 unit; to increase the <br />commercial water quantity charge from the current $1.26/unit to $1.30/unit; to modify the <br />current irrigation rate of $0.g8/unit during the four off peak billing periods and $1.52/unit <br />during the two peak irrigation billing periods to $1.01 and $1.56.; to increase the bimonthly <br />water meter service charge from $10.40 to $10.70 for a standard 5/8 inch residential meter; and <br />to revise the meter schedule accordingly for larger meters. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Mohr <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 6d <br />Adjustments to Sewer Rates and Char~es (SR95:422) <br /> <br /> Randall Lure presented the staff report. <br /> <br />12/05/95 -21- <br /> <br /> <br />
