Mayor Tarver stated that community input had been sought by the City Council, but that
the Committee of Decision Makers (Pleasanton, Alameda County and San Francisco PUC) is
the body that will come up with the proposal. He stated the Committee will meet on
December 7 and again on December 12. He encouraged Mr. Cohen to attend those meetings.

Ms. Miehelotti asked Mr. Cohen if he would like to see the golf course as pan of the
project. She stated the workshops are the time for citizens to come down and discuss their
desires and concerns.

Mr. Cohen stated he is not a golfer and would not use the course. He felt a golf course
will maintain the open space and it will not be overrun by housing and streets. He asked if
having a public golf course would bring some income for Pleasanton. Most of the people using
the golf course would be from the Pleasanton area, so he would like to see some of the money
come back to the City. He is more interested in basketball and soccer and would like to have
more opportunities for evening practices at lighted areas. Curren~y the only baskethall facilities
are the indoor areas that are open early in the morning on the weekends. He would prefer that
those are available later in the afternoon or the addition of outside baskethall facilities.
Pleasanton is a well-planned community and Mr. Cohen wanted to maintain the small town
feeling, avoid waffle problems, and not get involved in a protracted legal battle.

Mike Pirozzoli, 5925 Via Del Cielo, believed the City needed its own vision for the San
Francisco Water Dept. property and should not just respond to San Francisco's proposed plan.
He asked if the soundwalls are still pan of this plan. He also asked if people will be able to
walk across the golf course to get to the Village Center or will there be walkways there for the
public. Golf courses are not thought of as open space for the public. Will kids be able to play
on the grass or will it be fenced off?. He asked if the Village Center would be moving towards
Bernal Avenue, what impact would it have to the gateway of downtown and what types of
businesses are planned for the center. He was concerned about the impacts on downtown
businesses.

Alfred Robinson, 5489 San Antonio Street, expressed his concern for the traffic this
development would generate and stated he would like to see the maximum density reduced to
1500 units or less.

Linda Garbarino, 733 Division Street, indicated she participated in the General Plan
Review Committee on the Circulation subcommittee. She was especially concexned about
maintaining traffic circulation in the City. She did not think widening Bernal or any other
freeway access would help the traffic situation. Once on the freeway there is no place for you
to go too fast. When 680 was widened, it only helped for a couple of years and now her
commute time has tripled. She was concerned about the impacts from the homes that have been
approved but not yet built. If you consider each household generates ten trips per day, this
.... proposal will add 19,000 trips. Add that to the 3000 homes that are approved and unbullt and
that would add about 50,000 trips per day. The Council had a consultant come in to ask about
the qualifies of Pleasanton that are liked and admired. The results were that the residents like

12104195 ..4-
