Effective January 1, 1989, the City's maximum monthly contribution shall be increased to One Dollar and Eighty Four cents ($1.84) per One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of monthly salary of the first $2,250.00 of monthly salary not to exceed a total contribution of Forty One Dollars and Thirty Nine cents ($41.39) per month per employee. Section 13. Retirement 13.1 Pa3Fment Employee Contribution Effective January 1, 1988, the City shall pay the employee's contribution to the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS), to include the "Single Highest Year" option. The amount of said City payment shall equal but not exceed nine percent (9%) of the employee's compensation subject to retirement contributions. Section 14. Uniforms The City shall provide all necessary safety and protection clothing, as defined by the City Manager. The City shall provide fifty percent (50%) of the initial purchase price of uniforms for those employees required to wear a prescribed uniform. 14.1 Uniform Allowance Effective January 1, 1988, the annual uniform allowance paid police officers and police sergeants shall be Four Hundred and Sixty Eight Dollars ($468.00) payable in one payment in April. Effective January 1, 1989, the annual uniform allowance shall be increased to Four Hundred and Ninety Two Dollars ($492.00). Section 15. Credit Association The City shall offer a voluntary payroll deduction option for those employees who wish to join the City and County Employees Credit Union for the purposes of transacting business with such credit union. Section 16. Educational Incentive Pay Program 16.1 Purpose The purpose of this plan is to reward those eligible employees having obtained a specific level of educational achievement in an area related to their job and, in so doing, have become better qualified to discharge the duties of their respective positions.
