Walnut Grove to enlarge the multi-purpose room and replace the old/damaged playground
equipment.

Vicky Marshall, 5463 Corte Paloma, stated that as a resident in old Del Prado, she did
not want 36 new houses built in that area. She stated that she didn't feel the developer could
build houses equivalent to the homes already in the neighborhood and felt that the properties
already there would lose value when you compare old to new. Ms. Marshall asked the Council
not to rezone the property for residential use.

Carl Metz, 1533 Harvest Road, felt turning Del Prado into a residential site will enhance
the property values and hoped the Council will move forward on the issue.

Sue Evans, 5610 Paseo Navarro, stated she did not want the General Plan amended and
does not want the Del Prado site rezoned for residential use. She felt that the School Board has
made a bad decision choosing Stoneridge over Del Prado for a new school, especially since the
Stoneridge site is 50% smaller than the Del Prado site. Ms. Evans also felt there might be a
conflict of interest with the Land Planning Company since it was purported that it did some of
the reports for the School Board meeting and it also receives a fee for any sale/purchase of
school property. She stated that soon the District will be breaking ground at the Stoneridge
School which is next to a gravel quarry and in line with the Livermore Airport runway. She
urged the Council to stop the Stoneridge school from being built.

Don Summa, 2034 Palmer Drive, states that he lives in the Stoneridge area and with new
homes being built there, there is and will be a need for another school.

Vicky Reinke, 3472 Guthrie Street, she felt whether or not to build a school is the School
Board's decision alone. Ms. Reinke stated that the sale of Del Prado will give financial
opportunities to deserving schools in the area.

Judy Markolf, 3164 Thistledown Court, stated that she was a Trustee of the School
District. She encouraged the Council to follow the staff recommendation to proceed with the
rezoning outside the General Plan Amendment.

Ms. Dennis asked what the Board actions were on the funds that will be realized from
the sale of the Del Prado site?

Ms. Markolf stated that it was her understanding that funds will be used for to support
the other school facilities. She stated that all of the funds will not be committed to Walnut
Grove if it isn't necessary.

Dorene Paradiso, 3168 Paseo Granada, stated that hope Council would please follow the
staff recommendation and make a decision to begin the process to amend the General Plan
regarding the Del Prado site.

06/20/95 -7-
