Item 6b Final Map, Improvement Plans and Subdivision Agreement for Tract 6593, Garden Villages I (Chu) (SR 95:44) Randall A. Lure presented the staff report. Ms. Acosta indicated City staff would work with the School District staff regarding the design of the school/park joint use site. Peter MacDonald, 400 Main Street, representing the Pleasanton Unified School District, indicated he was happy with the staff report and requested Council to approve this action. Ira Harris, Morgan, Miller & Blair, representing Standard Pacific of Northern California, indicated the Subdivision Map Act requires the unconditional acceptance of the Final Map, but are willing to cooperate with the City and follow the staff recommendation. He wanted to note for the record that Standard Pacific does not waive any rights to bring the issues to a resolution should the City and School District not reach agreement. Mr. Tarver indicated he would not support this to be consistent with his past practices even though it is only a ministerial action. Mr. Pico did not support this because of his concerns about placing a school site and park ' in the flight path of an airport, adjacent to a quarry which may become a lake, and adjacent to a busy regional thoroughfare. He felt this was a health and safety threat to the future students at the school. Ms. Michelotti clarified that this Council action is saying that the final map is in conformance with the tentative map. She questioned the accuracy of the statement made regarding the flight path, but indicated she would address the issue on her own time with staff. Mr. Roush indicated her statement was correct.
