Commend Kenny Shanker from Amador Valley High School for his selection to <br /> the California All-State Honor Band. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Oath of Office <br /> <br /> The City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to the following newly appointed <br />committee members: David Wright (Art in Public Places Committee); and Linda Lammers, <br />Dorothea Barlett and Brad Hirst (Economic Development Advisory Committee). <br /> <br />5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Lavonda Prempas, representing the Foothill High School Band Boosters, briefly described <br />the Band' s trip to Europe and presented a photo album to Council in appreciation for its support. <br /> <br /> Pat O'Brien, representing the Economic Development Advisory Committee, presented <br />a plaque to Councilmember Karin Mohr in appreciation for her services on the steering <br />committee. <br /> <br /> Steven Bocian briefly reviewed the staff report (SR 95:48) regarding the General Plan <br />Study 1994 Random Survey. <br /> <br /> Kent Price, Price Research, 2680 Bishop Drive, Suite 205, San Ramon, California <br />94583, explained the methodology used for collection of the data in the survey and design of the <br />questionnaire. He then presented the major conclusions: (1) the majority of the residents feel <br />Pleasanton is a great place to live; (2) people are not upset about past growth and development, <br />but are more hesitant about future growth; (3) people are concerned about preservation of open <br />spaces, location of local schools, availability of water, and traffic impacts; and (4) with regard <br />to development of the San Francisco Water Department property, people prefer facilities to serve <br />the public, i.e. sports park, golf course, conference center. However, when it was explained <br />that certain types of development are necessary to pay for the public facilities, interest went <br />down. <br /> <br />02/07/95 <br /> -3- <br /> <br /> <br />
