Ms. Mohr indicated this same problem came before Council when she was first elected
and the chambers were filled with Good Sam members. She agreed there are problems in other
areas of town and it comes to Council's attention periodically. She would like to review the
pamphlet presented.

John O'Brien, 1098 Touriga Place, asked if the Council condoned storing RVs on the
street.

The item was referred to staff for resolution of the O'Brien/Kelly problem. No action
was taken to change the regulations on RV parking.

Ms. Michelotti urged Council to review ordinances from other jurisdictions as well as
the Good Sam publication. The problem will not go away.

Ms. Dennis agreed to review the situation and indicated a better way needs to be found
to communicate the regulations to the public.

Mr. Tarver suggested staff work with the Good Sam organization and other members of
the public to get an ordinance that is reasonable and respects everyone's rights. He preferred
not to change the ordinance at this time. It is better to work out problems as they arise.

Mrs. O'Brien again stated her belief that Pleasanton's current law is useless. She
acknowledged posting is a horrendous expense, which is why the Salinas law is being
challenged.

Mr. Pico indicated he was not in favor of changing the ordinance. He believed current
regulations were effective. He suggested that if Council is going to change the RV parking
ordinance, it should also look at providing significant additional RV storage areas. He also
suggested the City provide waste disposal facilities. He was not in favor of creating new laws
whenever there are neighborhood disputes.

(There was not a Council majority to support reviewing the ordinance. The only action
taken was to direct staff to attempt to mediate the neighborhood problem.)

01/03/95
-9-
