Ms. Michelotti stated she was misquoted in the newspaper article regarding the building
color. She does not mind the rolling roof but is opposed to the building design and color.

Mr. Tarver commented he would like to get BART officials to come to a City Council
meeting to discuss the community issues related to BART. He would like to give the community
objecting to the appearance of the BART building an opportunity to comment and brainstorm
on how to fix it. However, a bigger issue to Mr. Tarver is the delay in the completion of the
BART line. He would like to get a firm completion date. He is tired of the delays and he
believes the public is tired of it, too. BART should be made accountable as to why it is taking
so long.

Ms. Mohr would like to know the amount of additional costs incurred by the delays.

Ms. Michelotti also would like to have the BART officials come to a City Council
meeting so that all Pleasanton residents could hear what they have to say. She remembers the
reason for the delay were incompatible computers.

Mr. Tarver directed staff to extend such an invitation to BART officials to come to a City
Council meeting.

tinregistered Vehicles

Bert Felix, 2864 Creek Circle, inquired about the City's policy regarding unregistered
vehicles with regard to the new smog check procedures. Can the City tow a car which is not
registered?

Ms. Acosta stated there are parking regulations which would not allow an unregistered
car to be parked on the streets. There is also a vehicle abatement program to pick up abandoned
vehicles; however, the City generally does not go to a person's driveway and take a vehicle.

Due to a family emergency, Ms. Dennis left the meeting at 7:25 p.m.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATFERS

The following item was moved up on the agenda.
Item 6e
DiscussiOn of LoCal Match for 1-580/680 DireCt Connector Flyover ProjeCt and priority Of
fundim, for Tri-Va!ley transportation pr~ects. to be heard with Agenda Item 41, the
freeway aareement for the 1-580/680 Flyover project.

Roger Higdon presented the staff report.

Ms. Mohr inquired how the money would be covered if a jurisdiction did not commit to
the project.

08/20/96 -5 -
