It was moved by Ms. Mohr, seconded by Ms. Michelotti, to approve the Purchase Agreement and to adopt Resolution No. 96-92, approving a Negative Declaration for the proposed Fire Station No. 4 to be located on a vacant site situated between Del Va!le Parkway and the Arroyo del Valle. Mr. Tarver was not going to vote for this until he learned that Livermore is proposing a fire station at Airway Boulevard and that Fire Station No. 1 can be moved to cover the gap. There will still be a few gaps, but that is the best we can do. Ms. Acosta indicated in the final plan staff will work through all that. She indicated the Opticom signal timing system will help in improving response times as well. Ms. Michelotti was very happy to get coverage in the Vintage Hills area. Mr. Tarver indicated there is good coverage now, but by moving Station No. 1, we will get better coverage for the Ridge and the area along Foothill Road. He felt there was coverage of the Vintage Hills area now. Ms. Acosta said it really was improved coverage because there is better coverage to the southeastern part of town. Chief Withers indicated it is also improved secondary response for Fire Station 3. There are good arterial roadways to get to the major parts of the City.
