6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATI'ERS <br /> <br />Item 6a(1-6} <br />Commission and Committee Appointments. (SR96: 139) <br /> <br /> There was discussion among the Councilmembers regarding the interview process, the <br />Mayor's recommendations and the desire to have unanimous support for those appointed. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver indicated the process is open for any Councilmember to attend interviews <br />and only the interviews for Planning Commissioner were attended by all other members of the <br />Council. He objected to criticism of his choices by those who did not attend the interviews. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Pico, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 96-41, <br />appointing Geoff Cooper to the Planning Commission. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: Councilmember Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Pico, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 9642, <br />appointing Pat Lane as a regular member and Timothy Neal as an alternate member of the <br />Human Services Commission. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarvet <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Pico, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 96-43, <br />appointing Josie Martin as a regular member and Ralph Levy as an alternate member of the <br />Library Commission. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />05/07/96 -5- <br /> <br /> <br />
